Pay Council Tax by Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay. It is our preferred method, it is simple and easy to set up and saves you time. Please contact us if you would like to pay by Direct Debit.
Alternatively, you can download and complete the Direct Debit instruction below or use the Direct Debit form enclosed with your Council Tax bill, and return it to: Customer First, 1 Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4TW.
- We offer four payment dates each month of 1st, 7th, 15th and 25th of the month.
- When we have set up the Direct Debit you will receive a revised Council Tax bill confirming your instalment dates and amounts.
- Unless your Direct Debit is cancelled we will collect by this method each year.

Paying by telephone is convenient with our 24 hour automated payment line 0800 288 8097. Calls to this number are free from a UK landline, but charges may apply from mobiles.

You must include your 8 digit Council Tax account reference number against the payment or standing order. If paying by Standing Order, please ensure you set up your arrangement to debit your bank account at least 5 banking days before your instalment is due to reach us.
If you pay by Standing Order and would like to cancel it, please contact your bank.

You can now pay your Council Tax with a barcode that can be found at the bottom of your council tax bill at these outlets.

You can pay at any Post Office by cash or cheque.
