Eastbourne Disability Involvement Group
The Disability Involvement Group (DIG) was formed in February 2007 and is an involvement group for Eastbourne Borough Council. However more recently the DIG has become involved in wider ranging issues.
The DIG meets regularly at Eastbourne's town hall. Members set their own agenda and are heavily involved in areas of discussion such as dropped kerbs, community transport and plans for redevelopment projects across the town.
The DIG's wider membership represents many disabled people living in Eastbourne. It has representatives from a number of organisations in the town such as:
- The MS Society
- Eastbourne Blind Society
- Southdown Mental Health Recovery
- Eastbourne Access Group
- The Sussex Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus
- The JPK Project
- British Limbless Ex-Servicemen Association
- The Chaseley Trust
- Eastbourne Shopmobility
- Possability People
- Hearing Link
