Service Update: Permits
From the 2024/25 collection year, which begins on 1 April 2024, we will no longer issue physical garden waste bin permits. We will instead be using a more modernised and streamlined digital registration system.
This means customers will no longer need to stick a physical permit to their bin as proof of sign-up to the service. Instead, our collection crews will check bin registrations digitally using a tablet, ensuring a seamless process.
This change aims to eliminate issues such as late renewals, lost permits, and weather-related damage which could result in a gap in service. It also contributes towards our goal of being carbon neutral by 2030, by reducing the use of paper and plastic and the need for the printing and distribution to each household that registers.
Customers will be able to download their collection calendar for the year from Environment First website.
