Salary: £29,563 to £37,938 depending on experience and qualifications

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our current Senior Private Rented Sector Officer within the Accommodation Team on a fixed term 12-month contract basis. This is a new role to facilitate more growth in this area. After the initial fixed term there is a potential for the contract to be extended. The role reports directly into the Operations Manager of the Accommodation Team.
In this role, you will be supporting homelessness applicants to access and sustain privately rented accommodation. This includes landlord's liaison and tenancy management. The private rental sector offer sits under the umbrella of the 'Direct Lets' scheme which is a comprehensive tenant finding service which introduces private sector landlords to prospective tenants.
You would be required to manage challenging customers and need to be able to listen, extract, and assess important information in a calm and sensitive manner to ensure the best outcome for their housing issues. You will need to ensure that all customers are treated fairly and deliver efficient service delivery in accordance with legislation, policy, and best practices. We need an organised, efficient, and experienced individual who can work in a highly demanding and challenging environment. The candidate will need to work independently and confidently. Excellent communication, and IT skills are essential.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring accurate record keeping
- Liaise with landlords and agents to procure properties for our homeless cohort for move on
- Complete all relevant paperwork for customers moving into a private sector lease
- Tenancy manage customers who have moved into private sector leases
- Build and maintain relationships with landlords and agents as well as support agencies and other partners to ensure tenancies are sustained
- A knowledge of homelessness would be favourable
