Household waste collection service

In Eastbourne we collect your refuse from your property boundary every fortnight from 6am. Across Lewes district we collect your refuse from your property boundary every week from 6am.

How to dispose of other types of waste

We cannot accept any type of Hazardous Waste in your household rubbish. If you have a lot of rubbish, you can take the extra to your local household waste recycling site. We offer separate collections for these types of waste:

Your refuse collection is made from 6am on the same morning each week, with occasional changes due to public holidays.

All rubbish must be bagged. We will not collect loose waste.

All refuse needs to be presented in acceptable refuse containers - not in a blue lidded recycling bin or a brown lidded garden waste bin.

Wheelie bins for refuse

If you have space to store one, you can buy a wheelie bin from us. All rubbish must be bagged. We will not collect loose waste from inside the bin.

Your duty of care

Householders have a legal duty to dispose of their waste in a responsible manner. Failure to do so may result in a fixed penalty notice being served or a prosecution under Section 46 (Receptacles for Household Waste) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
