Your rubbish collection is made from 6am on the same morning each week, with occasional changes due to public holidays. Please place your rubbish bin at the edge of your property or on the kerbside by 6am on your collection day.
Rubbish bag collections
If you do not use a bin or do not have space for one, we can collect rubbish bags from your kerbside. All rubbish must be put in bags and double-tied, as bags can be ripped open by seagulls, foxes, badgers and other animals, spreading the contents. This can pose a health risk to both residents and collection crews.
Put your rubbish bags as close as you safely can to the kerbside or roadside before 6am on your collection day. Please do not put it out any earlier than the evening before.
If you have space to store one, you can you can buy a wheelie binfrom us.
We hold our waste and recycling service to a high standard, collecting at least 99.9% of all the bins in the district first time, and where the occasional collection is missed we are almost always able to return for it within two working days. Find out more and report missed collections online.
Your duty of care
Householders have a legal duty to dispose of their waste in a responsible manner. Failure to do so may result in a fixed penalty notice being served or a prosecution under Section 46 (Receptacles for Household Waste) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
