Why warm spaces are needed

Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Councils have declared a cost of living emergency.  The crisis being experienced across the UK has resulted from unprecedented pressures on people already in poverty and this winter, despite the support given by Government, thousands of people in the district and borough may be forced to make tough decisions about when and what they eat, what they can do in life, and when they can afford to heat their home.

You can find information about help available with the cost of living at:

lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk/cost-of-living

Despite the support available, the reality is that for many households, this will not cover the increasing cost of fuel, food and other necessities. This is why we are supporting the set-up of a Warm Spaces network.
