Between 20 March and 3 May 2019 Lewes District Council consulted traders, residents and other stakeholders over its updated guidance for street trading in the district.
The draft guidance sets out how applications for street trading consents should be made, how they will be processed and how we will consult over them. The guidance also sets out what we will consider when determining applications and sets out the standard conditions that will be attached to street trading consents when granted.
We received over 150 responses to the consultation. Because of the high level of interest, responses received after the closing date were still accepted.
A draft guidance is available to download at the bottom of this page and includes a summary of the main changes.
The responses will be analysed and a summary report drafted for the Licensing Committee which will enable it to consider a range of options.
