Part of Upperton Ward (polling district UPA)
Eastbourne Borough Council is commencing a review of the polling districts and places for the polling station in part of the above named ward. This review is as a result of the closure of Upperton United Reformed Church Hall whilst it is redeveloped. It has been used as the polling station for Polling District UPA. Whilst this venue is redeveloped, a new premise is required to serve the residents of UPA as a polling station, at all elections and referendums.
The consultation period runs from Wednesday 31 January until Monday 12 February 2018.
A polling district is the geographical sub-division of an electoral area. Neither the parliamentary constituency boundary nor the local government ward or division boundaries may be changed by this review.
A polling place is the building or area in which polling stations are located. The council has prepared draft proposals which are available for inspection below.
Any elector within the Eastbourne Parliamentary Constituency may make representations on the current arrangements and draft proposals. Representations on these or any other related matter are welcomed from persons or groups with interest or expertise in the access to premises or facilities for persons who have different forms of disability. Any person or body making a representation should, where appropriate, give alternative places that may be used as polling places.
Details of the current arrangements for polling district and polling place and proposal for change, together with supporting information, can be downloaded below or may be inspected at the Town Hall, Grove Road, Eastbourne on Mondays to Fridays between 9am and 5pm.
Representations should be given in writing and sent to: Polling Place Review, Electoral Services, Eastbourne Borough Council, Town Hall, Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4UG.
If you prefer you can email your representations (with the words “Polling Place Review” in the subject line) to email@example.com
The final date for receipt of representations is 5pm Monday 12 February 2018. Details of any representations received will be made available for inspection.
