Eastbourne Borough Council wants to hear from local community groups interested in applying for grants of up to £5,000.
To qualify for a small grant the group needs to demonstrate that they are working with volunteers for the benefit of Eastbourne residents and meet one or more of the council’s priorities.
Priorities for applications are:
- Projects which promote the inclusion of people protected under the Equality Act
- Projects focused on initiatives to support people with mental health needs
- Initiatives for developing volunteering and/or self-help activity that are focused on supporting carers, reducing social isolation, tackling financial exclusion or digital exclusion
Councillor Alan Shuttleworth, Cabinet Member for Community Development, said: “Despite severe cuts in government grants the council remains committed to supporting these valuable local community projects.
“The deadline is the 25 October and application forms are available from the council website.”
Application forms can be downloaded at lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk/grants
Interested groups are encouraged to attend a bid writing training session, which will be run in collaboration with 3VA, on Tuesday 17 September from 10am to 1pm at Eastbourne Town Hall.
Places on this training can be booked via lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk/grants
