Eastbourne Borough Council is supporting the Great British Spring Clean between March 25 and April 10.
Organised by Keep Britain Tidy, the annual spring clean campaign is in its seventh year and hopes are high that thousands of #LitterHeroes will again join forces to collect as much rubbish as possible.
Councillor Colin Swansborough, Cabinet Member for Place Services, said: “It’s fair to say we are very active in Eastbourne with organised litter collections undertaken by local groups and I’m incredibly grateful to all of them.
“This national campaign by Keep Britain Tidy is a great way to motivate even more people to get involved and help ensure our wonderful town is always looking its best.”
The council will collect the refuse collected and promote litter picking events in local communities on social media channels.
Councillor Swansborough added: “I hope as many residents as possible take part in the Great British Spring Clean and for anyone interested there is lots of information available online, on the council and Keep Britain Tidy websites.”
