Each year the council's accounts are audited and any interested person may:
- inspect the accounting records for the financial year to which the audit relates and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records; and
- make copies of all or any part of those records or documents.
For the year ended 31st March 2019 these documents will be available by appointment at the Council Offices, 1 Grove Road, Eastbourne, BN21 4TW from 9.00am to 4.00pm on weekdays between Monday 3 June 2019 and Friday 12 July 2019 inclusive. Please telephone 01323 415979 to make an appointment.

Local Government Electors and their representatives also have:
- the opportunity to question the auditor about the accounting records, who may be contacted at the London Office (address below) between Monday 3 June 2019 and Friday 12 July 2019 inclusive.
- the right to make objections to the accounts or any items in them during the period Monday 3 June 2019 to Friday 12 July 2019. Written notice of an objection must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to the Council.
The audit is being carried out by Deloitte LLP, 3 Victoria Square, Victoria Street, St Albans, AL1 3TF, and will be conducted under the provisions of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 and the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.
