Santa-style runners have raised £195 for the Mayor of Eastbourne's charity of the year which supports jobseekers. The Eastbourne Santa Fun Run saw people of all ages in Santa outfits run any distance they chose, along any route and at any time on 20 December 2020, while adhering to the social distancing guidelines in place at the time.

Participants were encouraged to raise funds for either their favourite good cause or the Mayor's chosen charity, People Matter, which provides guidance and information to jobseekers.

The Mayor, Councillor Steve Wallis, said: "Thank you to everyone who put on their Santa suit and ran, whether it was along streets, gardens, the seafront or the Downs - your efforts are greatly appreciated."

Ann Gillard, People Matter CEO, said: "With a huge upturn in numbers since last March, all funds to support services are greatly appreciated, and will be put to good use."
