People living in Eastbourne who have faced obstacles or self-confidence issues in becoming a leader, within or outside of business management, are invited to take part in a free workshop to help them learn new skills.
Eastbourne Cultural Involvement Group has commissioned the training event, Building Confidence in Yourself as a Leader, in response to discussions at the Eastbourne Borough Council-funded group. Delivered by Diversity Resource International, the training is primarily aimed at people of black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) origin, however all residents of the borough are welcome to attend.
The workshop will take place at Eastbourne Town Hall from 9am to 4pm on Monday, October 15.
It aims to build skills and confidence, and explores what makes a successful leader. The day features three speakers as well as team challenges, a feedback opportunity, tea, coffee and a light lunch.
The speakers are Tove Steen Sørensen-Bentham, a leadership and management consultant; Pat Taylor, strategy and partnerships lead for Thriving Communities at Lewes and Eastbourne Councils; and Mebrak Ghebreweldi, founder and director of Diversity Resource International and Vandu Language Services.
