The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Eastbourne have thanked waste and street cleansing teams for helping to keep the town clean during the pandemic.

Councillors Pat Rodohan and Helen Burton praised hard working staff during a guided tour of the Environment First depot in Courtlands Road last week.

The Mayor said: "Thank you to Environment First teams who have continually provided a first-class service, despite difficulties posed by Covid, to make sure our surroundings stay clean and tidy."

The Deputy Mayor echoed his thanks and added: "It was interesting to learn how our waste and cleaning operation works from the administrative and digital side right through to seeing the fleet of vehicles close up."
