New training grants scheme will 'grow local economy'

Training providers, social enterprises and charities are invited to attend the launch of a new employment and training grants programme.

Eastbourne Borough Council is hosting the event in the Orwell Room of its new Welcome Building in Devonshire Quarter on Thursday, February 13, from 5pm to 7pm.

Grants of up to £5,000 are being provided to deliver new employment, education and training initiatives which are not currently delivered in the borough.

Councillor David Tutt, Leader of Eastbourne Borough Council, said: “Eastbourne residents and businesses alike are set to benefit from this scheme which will in turn have the knock-on effect of growing our local economy.

“I would encourage any interested parties to come along to the launch to find out more and discuss their funding proposals.”

The event is free to attend but places must be booked via lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk/employmentgrantsevent
