Town Hall clock illuminated in support of two global events

Eastbourne Borough Council is lighting up the Town Hall clock red today (Thursday, December 1) to mark World Aids Day.

Supporters will also be wearing red ribbons to raise awareness about HIV and fight the stigma experienced by some of the 105,000 people who live with the condition in the UK.

Tomorrow (Friday, December 2), the Town Hall clock will be illuminated orange in support of a campaign to end violence against women and girls.

The United Nations initiative ‘UNITE! Activism to End Violence against Women and Girls’ is running for 16 days until December 10.

Locally, the Eastbourne branch of Soroptimist International is backing the campaign with a silent vigil at the Town Hall on Sunday, December 4, from 3.30pm.

Dated December 1, 2022.
