Annual enquiry form 2018

Every year we are required by law to send an annual enquiry form to every household to ensure that the Electoral Register is kept up to date.

Every household has a legal responsibility to respond to this form.

Please remember that you must respond, whether there is a change or not.

This year we have changed the way we are undertaking the annual canvass of households to give residents more options for responding and to save paper and money by moving to more innovative electronic solutions.

There are four stages to the canvass in 2018.

Additional information for Lewes District Council households only

The annual enquiry form security code and passwords are for Part 1 and Part 2. Any reference to a 10 digit security code and an eight letter password can be ignored. The security code and password you have been supplied with will work when using any of the options that require the entry of these codes.

An e-canvass reminder is being sent out in Eastbourne between 5-14 October 2018 and in Lewes between 1-18 November 2018

Paper forms will be posted in late July and residents are invited to respond via the methods outlined on the first page of the form.

Eastbourne Borough Council

There will be no first reminder for Eastbourne borough properties.

Lewes District Council

A first reminder will be posted out in mid August to non-responding Lewes district properties.

Eastbourne Borough Council

Any Eastbourne borough household which has not responded will be visited by one of our door to door canvassers. This year they will be collecting the household details on electronic tablets rather than the traditional paper form.

All canvassers will be wearing an Eastbourne Borough Council identity badge and have an official appointment letter. If the canvassers are unable to make contact with the household they will leave a calling card to encourage residents to respond.

Lewes District Council

Any Lewes district household that has not responded will be visited by one of our door to door canvassers with the Final Reminder. This will be from late September.

All canvassers will be wearing a Lewes District Council identity badge and have an official appointment letter. If the canvassers are unable to make contact with the household they will leave a calling card to encourage residents to respond.

This is the final chance for electors to be included in the revised Electoral Register which will be published on 1 December 2018.

Or we will send a yellow Invitation to Register form as soon as we become aware of a potential new elector.
