The Coronation of His Majesty The King

The Coronation will take place on the morning of 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Throughout the UK, Coronation Big Lunches will bring communities together on 7 May, and Big Lunch packs for residents are now available to download, linked below. Street parties will also take place across the weekend.

The weekend of celebrations will end with the Big Help Out on 8 May, which will highlight the impact of volunteering. This will encourage people to get involved with activities run by local community groups, organisations and charities. Organisations wanting to join in can sign up at the link below.

Applying for a street closure

The deadline to apply for a road closure for the Coronation of King Charles III is the 11 March 2023, this is to allow enough time for the statutory 8-week consultation period to take place before the date of the Coronation on 6 May 2023.
