The Environment First team at Lewes District Council has shown its support for two charities at recent fundraising events.

The waste team hosted its annual Bacon Butty breakfast at the Robinson Road depot in Newhaven, amassing £560 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Following this, Environment First organised a Friends 'n' Family charity walk to Cuckmere Haven which topped up the Macmillan donation to £1,220.

The event saw one group set off from Newhaven and stride out along Seaford beach to Cuckmere Haven where they met up with a group that started in Eastbourne and walked over to the Seven Sisters.

Additionally, the Environment First team took part in the Seafront Soapbox Race in Eastbourne with a soapbox named LAMBO1, in memory of their much-loved friend Chris Lambert who died three years ago.

Their race efforts have so far raised a staggering £2,000 for St Wilfrid's Hospice. For anyone wishing to contribute visit
