Newhaven Town Council have submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to be publicised before it is submitted for Examination. Representations must be made between 7th February and March 21st 2019 which will be forwarded to the Examiner. They can be emailed to email@example.com.
Newhaven was designated as a Neighbourhood Area in 2013 and the Town Council has consulted widely on the development plan before reaching this stage of the neighbourhood planning process. Neighbourhood planning was introduced through the Government’s Localism Act, designed to create the conditions for local communities to have a real voice in deciding the look and feel of future development in their area.
Neighbourhood plans are prepared by Town and Parish Council’s and set detailed planning policies. Plans identify new sites for employment, housing and leisure facilities, as well as identifying areas to protect and enhance. Once examined the Newhaven Neighbourhood Plan will go to Referendum to decide whether it is ‘made’ to form part of the Local Development Plan
