Animal boarding licences

Boarding kennels and catteries need a licence issued by your council. This helps maintain the proper care and treatment of animals.

The licence runs from 1 January until the 31 December. This licence is for the care of dogs and cats.

You need to apply for a licence if you operate

  • Dog boarding kennel
  • Combined cattery and kennel
  • Dog home boarding
  • Dog day crèche
  • Combined home boarding and day crèche
