Lewes District Council is offering a service whereby you can sponsor a tree in a public place this planting season - November 2019 to March 2020.
By sponsoring a tree you will help enhance your area, provide ecological, environmental and bio-diversity benefits and improve the quality of the local environment. Planting is also a great way to help off-set carbon emissions.
Through the process of photosynthesis, trees absorb carbon dioxide to produce oxygen. By planting selected broad leaf tree species you will help to preserve our environment and biodiversity. Your tree will also contribute to our drive to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Contact us to express an interest and we’ll send you a list of native species to choose from and options for three possible planting sites as close as possible to where you live. Once you let us know your choices our contractor will then contact you prior to planting your new tree.
The approximate cost for a 3 to 3.5m tall sapling is about £306 incl VAT.
