Newhaven has been selected to develop proposals in order to secure a maximum of £25m investment. The Towns Fund gives 101 towns the opportunity to agree successful Town Deals based on locally-owned Town Investment Plans.
Town Investment Plans should be long-term, strategic documents which set out why targeted areas have been chosen, what is being done to support other key areas of the town, and how this will support the town centre. They must also recognise work that has already been undertaken in towns and utilise recent strategies and plans. Bids should set out how targeted investment in connectivity, land use, economic assets, skills and enterprise, will stimulate long term economic growth and productivity.
The Newhaven Town Deal Board has been convened and residents have been contributing their ideas through the MyTown campaign - https://mytown.communities.gov.uk/
