Since we have many Freedom of Information requests of a similar nature during the course of the year, we now create standard reports.
The Eastbourne reports include all business rate accounts, any reliefs applicable to the accounts and any credits applicable. New business rate liabilities are shown in the first column and indicated with a 'Y'.
There are three separate reports for Lewes. These include all business rate accounts, business rate credits and new accounts.
As we create these reports on a monthly basis, we will not continue to provide individual responses to requests during the year, or for similar information. Any such requests will be politely declined.
The information has been screened to remove the names of sole-traders as this data is exempt from disclosure under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000; however, their business addresses are shown. Account references are not included as these are personal to the account.
When applying for a refund, you will need to provide documents showing that you were, or are the ratepayer, or that you have permission from the ratepayer to act on their behalf.
