COVID-19 Update 

The Government has set out a package of temporary measures to support businesses through this period of disruption. This includes the Small Business Grant Fund and the Retail and Hospitality Grant Scheme administered by local authorities. There is also a Discretionary top-up fund which will start accepting application from 29 May. To find out more go to our COVID-19 page.

The following organisations can also help you understand the full range of measures announced by the Government:

  • Business East Sussex website – They provide free and impartial government funded business support. 
  • Coronavirus Business Support Hub website – The Hub brings together the key information for businesses including the Government’s temporary measures, business closures, your responsibilities as an employer and managing your business during the coronavirus.

Free access to funding portal

Small and medium sized businesses in Eastbourne and the Lewes District can now access Open4Business for free until 31 October 2020.

The online funding portal is updated regularly with new local, regional and national funding announcements and can be easily searched by industry, region and business size. The portal then provides information on how to apply for funding and contact funders directly.

Community grants

Eastbourne Borough and Lewes District Council provide a range of grants to voluntary groups and organisations. This includes the Rent Support Grant scheme for Eastbourne Borough Council tenants who are not-for-profit organisations.
