What is a Local Plan?

Phase one of the consultation was held in January and February 2025 and focused on detailed policies for the plan area and considered a few early site allocations.

The second phase of the consultation took place from 18 December 2025 to 28 February 2026, and focused on establishing a new Spatial Strategy and Site Allocations for development, replacing the existing Local Plan, which expires in 2030.

The plan aims to guide sustainable growth, meet housing and employment needs, and protect the environment.
