Report abandoned vehicles direct to the police and DVLA through Operation Crackdown.
We work closely with Sussex Police and the DVLA to investigate and remove abandoned vehicles. For a vehicle to be treated as abandoned it has to be untaxed, on a public road and not have been moved for at least two weeks.
You may check the tax status of any vehicle by using the DVLA vehicle enquiry service. This gives information on whether the vehicle is taxed and if it has a current MOT certificate.
Report the vehicle to Operation Crackdown
The Sussex Police initiative Operation Crackdown allows you to report abandoned cars and other vehicles direct to Sussex Police:
You can also report anti-social driving, such as speeding, using mobile phone or under-age drivers, to Sussex Police through Operation Crackdown.
Report an untaxed vehicle
The DVLA are responsible for prosecuting owners of vehicles that are untaxed. Go to the Gov.uk report an untaxed vehicle web page for more information.
