Volunteering in your local nature reserve

Join our countryside ranger and volunteer group leaders to help to make a difference in your Local Nature Reserve by getting your hands dirty for a good cause.

Practical conservation volunteering allows anyone to get involved in helping with practical nature conservation tasks.

Our officers works with members of the Lewes Railway Land Meadow MindersChanging Chalk, Castle Hill Conservation Group and Newick Rootz, on practical conservation tasks in Lewes, Newhaven and Newick.

They carry out a variety of work including general habitat, woodland and chalk grassland management, footpath maintenance, step building, surveying plants, ponds and animals and scrub clearance.
