Taxi vehicle licence
A vehicle licence is made out to the owner of the vehicle and any individuals that have an interest in that vehicle.
You do not need to be a licensed driver to hold a vehicle licence but you do have to be a licensed driver in order to drive the vehicle.

How to apply
To apply for a vehicle licence you will need:
- Registration Document (V5 log book)
- Valid Insurance Certificate
- Valid MOT certificate
- Meter Calibration Certificate
- Vehicle compliance test

Temporary vehicle licence
If a licensed vehicle is replaced temporarily, then the licence can be transferred to a replacement vehicle. In these circumstances hire companies and licence holders should contact their relevant Licensing Section for guidance on how to proceed.

Taxi vehicle licence - Eastbourne Borough Council
Eastbourne Borough Council's Licensing Committee have adopted new Guidance (see below). This Guidance comes into effect from 4 April 2022. This Guidance will have a phased implemented over a six month period from April 2022.
