Homes First delivers a unified housing service for Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Councils, managing a combined housing stock of approximately 6,700 homes. The Neighbourhood Housing Team manage tenancies and work with residents across the Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough areas and we are looking for a Housing Assistant to join our established team.
Job overview
Housing Assistants are trained to be multi-skilled, managing a range of tenancy related issues and supporting the Housing Officers within the housing team.
You will undertake a variety of duties, including introductory tenancy visits, basic tenancy enquiries, mutual exchanges, lettings/terminations, low level anti-social behaviour, safeguarding, purchase orders processing and other housing related administrative tasks.
We are looking for someone with an interest in housing in the social sector who has either experience or transferable skills who can work along our senior officers to provide support to our tenants. There will also be opportunities to visit our estates and engage with tenants. You will need to be enthusiastic with effective communication skills, the ability to work well within a team and a willingness to learn.
