Join our waste services team and be part of an innovative and exciting recycling, refuse and street cleansing team providing a waste collection service of lasting improvements across the borough of Eastbourne.
Working in the Waste Services team as an HGV Driver you will be responsible for collecting waste and/or recyclables from domestic properties kerbside with a small team providing a quality service for residents and customers of Eastbourne Borough.
You will need to hold a Heavy goods vehicle license (HGV) up to date DQC and driver Tachograph card. The role is a dual role involving driving and non-driving duties.
Our vehicles use in-cab technology which you will use to report issues. This is primarily a driving role but there may be occasions where you will need to assist your crew with the loading of bins. You will be responsible for daily vehicles checks.
You will be able to communicate and influence others to ensure service delivery standards are maintained. You will have responsibility for working practices, health and safety at work and training, for the safe, effective delivery of service objectives.
You will be an ambassador of the organisation and a positive role model for your fellow work colleagues, promoting diversity, equalities and inclusivity.
You will be required to carry out 'catch-up work' and may be required to assist outside normal hours with emergency works.
