Former Eastbourne Mayor presents over £8,800 to good causes
Eastbourne's former Mayor amassed an amazing £8,847.24 for two local charities through a year of diverse fundraising activities.

Councillor Vaughan said: "I am absolutely thrilled to present these funds to these wonderful charities that carry out incredible work in our community, making a real difference to people's lives.
"My heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who supported my events throughout the year and helped us raise such a fantastic amount. Your generosity will have a lasting impact."
The funds were raised through a variety of community events including the popular Mayor's Charity Ball, quiz nights and a photography competition.
Patricia Dark, fundraising, marketing and new business manager at The Chaseley Trust, said: "We had a fantastic time supporting the Mayor's fundraising events, and our residents were delighted to meet Councillor Vaughan when she visited Chaseley. They felt truly honoured to welcome her into our home, and we're extremely grateful for her generous donation of just over £4,400.
"This gift will help support updates to our accessible gym and physiotherapy services—open to the wider Eastbourne disabled community—helping people regain independence and fully enjoy life."
Leaf Hall trustees said: "As we reflect on this remarkable year, Leaf Hall trustees are grateful for the Mayor's inclusive leadership and the dedication of her team. Their openness to collaboration and commitment to the community have made a lasting impression on all involved. Together, we have shown that collective action and shared goals can yield extraordinary outcomes for the benefit of all."
The new Mayor is raising money for her two chosen charities through an array of fundraising events to be held through the year. These causes are Forward Facing, which supports families whose children are living with long-term or life-limiting conditions, complex disabilities, terminal illness, or bereavement; and Eastbourne Street Pastors, who engage with people on the street to listen, help, and care.
