150 landlords attend forum in Eastbourne
The first East Sussex Landlords Forum welcomed more than 150 private landlords to The View Hotel in Eastbourne.

The forum offered landlords from across the county the chance to hear from a range of public and private sector speakers. Key updates included:
- Upcoming legislative changes affecting the private rented sector, including the Renters Rights Act
- Guidance on compliance requirements and health and safety in rental properties
- An update from the National Residential Landlords Association
- Information on retrofit programmes and opportunities to improve energy performance in homes, including potential funding support
The event also featured a networking marketplace, where landlords could connect with service providers and council representatives. Organisers hope the forum will become a regular fixture in the calendar, helping landlords stay informed and prepared for the challenges ahead in the private rented sector.
Cllr Peter Diplock, Cabinet Member for Housing at Eastbourne Borough Council, said:
"This forum is a fantastic example of partnership working across East Sussex.
"By bringing landlords together with councils and the NRLA, we can share vital updates, build stronger relationships, and support landlords to provide safe, sustainable homes.
"With significant change across the sector, including new legislation, it's more important than ever that we work together to navigate the future of the private rented sector."
