Up to £5,000 on offer for local projects to tackle climate change
Community groups across Lewes district are being encouraged to put forward their ideas for tackling climate change and supporting nature as applications open for the Ouse Valley Climate Action - Community Pitch.
Councillor Emily O'Brien, Cabinet Member for Climate, Nature and Food Systems said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for local groups to turn their ideas into reality. We know there is a huge amount of passion and creativity in our communities when it comes to tackling climate change and supporting wildlife.
"I really encourage organisations of all sizes to come forward with their ideas and take advantage of this opportunity to make a positive difference where they live. I am proud that Lewes District Council has funded part of this grant pot to support community action on climate and nature."
Projects can be delivered anywhere across the Lewes district. They could include community gardens, eco-education programmes or sustainable transport initiatives.
Applications are now open and will close on Tuesday, June 30.
