Are you passionate about making a real difference to people in housing need; helping them find safe, sustainable housing solutions and prevent homelessness? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Housing Options Officer to join our Housing Options & Wellbeing team. This is a key role within a supportive, forward-thinking service where you will help prevent and relieve homelessness, deliver excellent customer service and contribute to the ongoing development of best-practice approaches.

Working in a busy and varied environment, you will hold a caseload of homeless applications and take a lead role in managing those cases; completing Personal Housing Plans, carrying out holistic assessments and identifying realistic housing options for customers. You will work with people under prevention and relief duties, provide clear and practical advice, and issue section 184 decisions where required.

The role will primarily be based at our Prevention Hub in Eastbourne, where we work alongside key partners to deliver a collaborative homelessness prevention model. You may also work from other locations across Lewes District and Eastbourne, with opportunities for some home working.

We are looking for a resilient individual, who communicates confidently, builds strong relationships and works effectively with colleagues, partners and customers both in person and virtually. You will need excellent attention to detail, strong investigation and decision-making skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a demanding service.

Experience of housing options, homelessness prevention or related casework would be welcomed, but it is not essential. What matters most is your commitment to delivering excellent customer service, your ability to work positively with applicants who may have multiple or complex needs, and your focus on finding practical, person-centred solutions. A comprehensive training plan will be available for the right candidate, alongside opportunities for continued learning and personal development.

In return, you will join a valued and supportive team where your ideas are welcomed, and customers remain at the heart of everything we do. You will have access to internal and external training and the opportunity to develop specialist expertise as your career progresses.
