Eastbourne Crematorium

The crematorium opened in 1960 and the Cemeteries in 1857 and we hold records for both. Our team abides by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Guiding Principles for Cremation and the Charter for the Bereaved.

Opening hours

Bereavement Services Office

  • Open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm.
  • Weekends and Bank Holidays: closed until further notice
  • Alternatively you can phone us from Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 4:30pm on 01323 761093 or contact us online (select the Cemeteries or Crematorium option)

Crematorium Main Chapel

We can now accommodate 80 people seated plus standing and an additional area for standing in the foyer and outside. Speakers are available outside to make sure the service can be heard.

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 4:30pm 
  • Weekends and Bank Holidays: 9am to 1pm

Family Chapel

The family chapel underwent a refurbishment in 2022 and this has vastly improved the space, creating a light and open space to celebrate life. The family chapel can now accommodate 35 people seated and 40 with some standing.

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • Weekends and Bank Holidays: 9am to 1pm

Book of remembrance

  • Open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm
  • Weekends and Bank Holidays: 9am to 1pm

Crematorium Gardens

  • Summer (BST): 8am to 8pm
  • Winter (GMT) 8am to 5:30pm

Please note the gates to the Crematorium grounds are locked at the above times. Please make sure you leave before the closing times.
