Eastbourne Borough Council, in collaboration with a network of local homelessness charities, has launched a new campaign, urging residents and visitors to reconsider how they provide support to those on the streets.

Cabinet councillors today (Wednesday, Feb 11) approved a new system for allocating council homes to residents on the housing register, to match people more effectively with the properties they need.

Cabinet councillors at Eastbourne Borough Council have agreed a council tax rise of 16p per week. This 2.99% increase for 2026/27 equates to an extra £8.55 a year for a Band D property.

End to government financial support confirmed

The Cabinet Member for Tourism at Eastbourne Borough Council has confirmed that the authority will 'fast track' an application to the government's new £1.5 billion fund for cultural venues.
