We are currently transitioning to a new Revenues and Benefits system. Our services will continue during this time but you may need to do some things differently.

Pay Council Tax to Lewes District Council

Pay by Direct Debit

Have you recently moved home? If so, tell us about your change of address before you apply for a Direct Debit so we can issue your bill.

How to set up a Direct Debit

  • We are currently unable to set up direct debits, please continue to pay as per your current bill. For further information please see our FAQs
  • You can set up a Direct Debit for the 1st, 7th, 15th or 25th of the month
  • Once we receive your instruction, we will set up the Direct Debit and you will receive a revised Council Tax bill confirming your instalment dates and amounts
  • Unless your Direct Debit is cancelled we will collect by this method each year
