New laws come into force on 6th April 2026 which require all owners of privately owned primates in England to be licensed by their Local Authority. New guidance will be published shortly. For more information visit Gov.uk. The Animal Welfare (Primate Licences) (England) Regulations 2024.
In line with our new policy on Animal Licencing, all applications for a new licence or renewal must now be supported by either a 'Basic DBS for lone operators or those not providing services to minors' or an 'Enhanced DBS to operators who provide services to children or vulnerable adults including employment or work experience to students.
