Apply for a minor variation of a premises licence
Pre-application Advice for Licensing Act 2003
You need to apply for a minor variation of a premises licence if the changes do not impact adversely on the 4 licensing objectives.
These changes could include:
- Minor changes to the structure or the layout of the premises
- Small adjustments to your licensing hours
- Removing out of date, irrelevant or unenforceable conditions and the addition of volunteered conditions
- Adding licensable activities excluding sale by retail of alcohol
Restrictions
You must be 18 or over to apply for a minor variation of a premises licence.
Displaying your licence
Part A of the updated licence should be kept safely at the premises. Police or council officers can ask to inspect them at any time.
You must display the updated Part B, the licence summary, at your premises where it can be easily seen.

You'll need to provide copies of the following:
- Application for a minor variation of a premises licence
- Copy of premises licence
- Premises plan (if applicable)
