We have on-street parking, council-run parking and privately-run multi-storey car parks within our boundary. Responsibility for parking services is shared with East Sussex County Council. Car parking prices differ from site to site.

Charges
The councils operate a number of Pay and Display and free car parks across the Lewes area. The current charges are available to download. Disabled badge holders can park free of charge.
Payment can be made by cash using coins. RingGo cashless parking is also available for car parks across Lewes district. RingGo allows you to pay using credit or debit card using a mobile phone app or you can pay over the telephone. Find out more about RingGo.

The following car parks have height restriction barriers set at 1.9 metres.

Parking permits
Lewes District Council handles enquiries relating to concessionary permits at West Quay in Newhaven and Sutton Croft Lane in Seaford, please contact us if you need more information about these permits.
All other permit enquiries are managed by the Lewes Parking Shop.

Parking permits
Eastbourne Borough Council has a long-standing commitment to supporting residents with affordable parking.
As of 18 June 2025, new parking permits will be available to purchase via the RingGo app (the permits are called "sessions" on the app).
The new permits/sessions are an additional option for regular users of the car parks, which could offer excellent value and convenience. Hourly pay-and-display remains available in all car parks.
This new permit/session scheme replaces the expired Leisure Card with immediate effect, and will replace the bowls club and seafront permits when they reach their expiry dates.
Annual permits/sessions are available to purchase from 18 June 2025 via the RingGo app.
Discounts will be applied for permits/sessions purchased with the following payment options:
- Annual permits purchased quarterly - 10% discount
- Annual permits purchased annually - 15% discount
How to buy a permit
Visit the RingGo website or smartphone app and select park now at your chosen car park. When choosing the duration of your session, select the option to pay for 1 month, 3 months, 1 year to purchase your permit.
