Public comments may take longer as they are individually checked and published. You can search our Planning Public Access system to find and view documents and information relating to applications and appeals in Lewes district. Detailed records are available for applications received after March 2006. More limited records are available from 1948. Digitised records for pre-2006 files can be made available online by request.
Records take up to 5 working days to be added for viewing following validation.
You can search the Weekly list of planning applications for Lewes District on Public Access. The list updates automatically following validation of the application and covers weekly lists dating back 12 months. You can refine your search to find a specific application, view its related documents, submit a comment and check its status.
South Downs National Park (SDNP) applications
SDNP applications received after 1 April 2012 and the SDNP weekly list are only available to view on the SDNP website.
Please note that the Comments tab which displays when you have searched for an application, does not contain all comments that have been received. All comments submitted on an application are available to view by selecting the Documents tab and View Associated Documents. Please ensure you have pop-ups allowed to view the information.
Public comments submitted through the Public Access system are automatically published online. The system is updated hourly.

24 May 2019: We have made changes to our Public Access planning document viewer. This is to resolve a series of issues where some customers were unable to download large planning documents. A temporary web page containing a number of these documents will continue to be available for a short time, but you can now access these documents through Public Access.
Please note: to improve display and download speeds going forward, the viewer's measuring tools are no longer available for documents added since 20 May 2019. However, with Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 and above, you can measure plans and drawings using the Adobe Measuring Tool.
Please note: We are aware of a problem affecting Lewes Planning applications using the Internet Explorer browser. We recommend using an alternative such as Google Chrome instead whilst we resolve the problem.
